 Goal of the game

After receiving two cards, the player draws cards to approach the value 21 without exceeding it. Some additional options exist, here is a summary of all possible actions in blackjack:- Draw a card: you want to take another card, which the croupier distributes to you. If the player shoots and exceeds 21, he loses his stake.- Stay: you stay if you are satisfied with your hand, that the total is sufficient; You do not want any extra card. Tell the dealer that you are serving with a horizontal hand gesture (above your cards) or saying "Stay".- Doubling the bet: you double your bet and you receive one card, one only. In most casinos, you can "double up" only after receiving your first two cards and if they total 9, 10, or 11. This rule may vary according to casinos in France: since March 2007, casinos can allow Doubling on any result. To receive your extra card, notify the croupier that you want to "double up", just place a second bet near the initial bet on the box and the dealer will give you a final card.

Split / Split: If the first two cards of the player form a pair, he can separate them into two separate hands, bet the same amount on each of them and play them separately; This is called "doing a split" (sharing the cards). All 21 obtained after a split does not count as "blackjack", since it was not made with both original cards. The gain is therefore limited to the equal amount of the committed bet (and not the payment of blackjack to 3 for 2).

Insurance: If the dealer's apparent card is an Ace, the player can "take out insurance" to guard against blackjack, that is, making a bet not exceeding half of his initial bet. If the dealer's hidden card is a 10 or a figure, the player wins 2 to 1. If the second card (or hidden card) of the dealer is not set to 10, the insurance bet is lost.
